If you are new to Alexander Technique, our Starter Program gives you ten lessons, an analysis survey, connection to the Blue Mountains Alexander Community, an introduction to Alexander Technique by Professor David Garlick. It’s a great way to get the most from your Alexander Technique experience. Alexander Technique is learning. We learn by having sequenced chunks of information repeated regularly. Have you had lessons with me in the last five years or so? If you decide that you would like to continue with Alexander Technique lessons or have a refresher series, then I’d like to incentivise you with a significant discount. The continuing lesson deal is 10 lessons for $770. It’s about 30% discount but the lessons are still 100% learning. I am teaching people who live outside of the mountains, in Canberra, Singapore, Central CoastCoast and in the USA. In fact you can learn from anywhere in the world. Learn with senior teacher Michael Shellshear from your home or anywhere in the world where you can connect to the Internet. These lessons are $66 inc gst. You get 45-60 minutes of one to one instruction + you get a link to the zoom recording so you can play back the information in between lessons.  Use this link to organise a zoom session.

Organise a one-off lesson with Michael. Michael has been teaching Alexander Technique since 1991 and now teaches teachers as well as general public. Learn in a safe and beautiful garden location at our Leura Studio. The studio is air-conditioned and enjoys underfloor heating for those really cold Mountains days. Lessons with trainee teachers are becoming available either in person or via zoom. They are a very cost effective way to learn Alexander Technique at only $33 per lesson. Lessons are supervised with a senior teacher. Lessons will be recorded for learning purposes only. If you are interested drop us a line here and we’ll get back to you with details.

eLearning

eLearning is a convenient and enjoyable way to learn about Alexander Technique at any time from anywhere. We have developed a large range of courses for people at all stages of their Alexander Technique development. Try our free introductory course.

Our Movement Intelligence Program has  four courses for advanced students and first year trainee teachers that provide from ten to forty weeks of discoveries, presentations and experiments.

Our Informed Teaching program is eLearning for year two and three teacher trainees. There are nine courses spanning up to eighty weeks of teaching strategy, developmental work, language skills and more. You can choose to do just one course or all nine.

Alexander Technique Teacher Training Program

Our Teacher Training Program offers full and part-time training. It’s an innovative course that offers a foundational program called Movement Intelligence. This program can be taken as the beginning stage of training to become an Alexander Technique or it can be used by anyone wishing to gain an advanced and profound investigation of Alexander Technique principles. If you decide to continue to train our Informed Teaching Program provides you with very sophisticated teaching skills, analysis, communication, marketing and business skills to move you forward into a professional Alexander Technique practice.

Movement Intelligence

The Movement Intelligence Program prepares you for transition to teaching Alexander Technique by immersing you in the experience, the theory and the communication of Alexander principles.
Training is provided by online classes, in-person intensives, eLearning and self-guided reading and research. By the end of this program :
• You will be highly skilled in employing Alexander Technique in your activities.
•You will be able to explain Alexander Technique clearly and in an appropriate way for diverse audiences
• You will have a strong foundational understanding of Alexander's writings
• You will have gained significant anatomical and neurological knowledge, expression and understanding

Informed Teaching

While you continue to deepen your own implementation of Alexander Technique, this program teaches you masterful strategies for working with students from all walks of life. You learn to break down and analyse teaching methods of first generation Alexander Teachers, meet and learn from senior Alexander teachers from Australia and around the world.
By the end of this program: • You have developed teaching outcomes and teaching strategies to assist you in teaching Alexander Technique to individuals and groups.
• You have presented Alexander Technique introductory and orientation sessions to a number of groups.
• You are conversant and experienced in 'best practice' management of individual Alexander students over a course of lessons.
• You are able to plan and implement marketing, design web material, write copy, conduct media interview, make video material for Instagram and TikTok; write promotional material, news articles, pamphlets and brochures to enhance your business.
